The Young Leaders Award aims to equip young people to ‘be the change they want to see’ in all of their communities. Through a number of interactive lessons and practical challenges pupils will be involved in serving and making a difference in lots of different ways.
Over the last two years the children have led some wonderful school and community projects, from helping to clean and tidy Huby Playpark, organising Happy Shoesday, the Great Tower of Huby and the strongest bridge afternoon, running a mile a day and hosting fabulous fun afternoons for parents and children to come together through either playing rounders or improving their fitness levels by going on a long walk. Young Leaders have raised nearly £500 for Living Streets, the Stroke Association, Easingwold Food Bank and York Down Syndrome Society. Well done to all our Young Leaders!
This year, 2021/22, we will be running the Young Leaders Award in KS1 (Kingfisher Class) and we can’t wait.
What are the benefits from completing the award?
