Our Buddy System
Looking out for one another
At Huby, we believe that everyone has a part to play in making our school a happy, caring and welcoming place.
We are particularly proud of the way our older children look after our youngest pupils. Our Year 6 children become buddies to our new Reception children, helping them to find their way around, settle into school life and discover all the little things that make Huby special. They show them the ropes, play with them, listen to them and, most importantly, help them to feel that they belong.
But being a buddy isn't just something our Year 6 children do.
At Huby, we believe that everyone can be a buddy.
Whether it is helping someone who is finding something difficult, inviting someone to join a game, looking out for a younger child, listening when someone needs a friend or simply noticing when someone needs a little kindness, we expect all our children to care for and support one another.
This is Connection in action.
Our Christian vision reminds us that we are all part of something bigger than ourselves. We encourage our children to notice the needs of others, to show kindness and compassion and to understand that even small acts of care can make a big difference.
