Values Champions

Helping our values shine

At Huby, our Christian values of Curiosity, Connection and Courage are not simply words on our walls — they are values we aim to see lived out every day.

Each term, class teachers choose a Values Champion from their class. These children are recognised because they have demonstrated that they are positive role models who show our values through their actions, attitudes and the way they care for others.

Being a Values Champion is more than receiving an award. Our Values Champions have an active role in helping to shape and celebrate the life of our school.

Our Values Champions:

Help to lead worship
Values Champions play an active role in planning and delivering our collective worship. They contribute their ideas, reflections and experiences, helping to make worship meaningful and relevant to our children.

Lead Picture News
Our Values Champions help to lead class discussions and worship around Picture News, exploring current issues and events happening in our local, national and wider world. Together, children consider different perspectives and think about how these issues connect with our Christian values and the way we are called to live.

Help others to reflect
They encourage their classmates to think deeply about what our values mean in everyday life and how we can put them into practice.

Celebrate others
At the end of each week, our Values Champions choose a member of their class to receive a Values Champion Certificate. They recognise a child who has demonstrated Curiosity, Connection or Courage during the week.

Lead by example
Above all, Values Champions understand that leadership is about service. They model kindness, respect, responsibility and compassion and help others to feel valued, included and able to shine.

Our values belong to everyone

While our Values Champions have a special leadership role, our Christian values belong to every member of the Huby family.

We want every child to recognise that they have the power to make a positive difference — through the choices they make, the way they treat others and the courage they show each day.

Together, we celebrate the moments when our children let their light shine.
