The children are organised into four school houses:

• Rievaulx 
• Byland 
• Bolton
• Fountains

At Huby Church of England Primary School, our four houses are an important part of our school family. Every child is assigned to a house when they join our school, giving them an immediate sense of belonging and creating opportunities to work together, support one another and celebrate achievements across all year groups.

Each house is led by a House Captain and Vice Captain, who are elected by their fellow Year 6 classmates. These pupil leaders play an important role in representing their house, encouraging teamwork and helping to build a strong sense of community throughout school.

Throughout the week, children can earn house points in class for demonstrating our school values of Courage, Connection and Curiosity. Whether it is showing kindness, persevering with a challenge, supporting others or approaching learning with enthusiasm, children are recognised for the many ways they let their light shine.

At the end of each week, the House Trophy is awarded to the house with the highest number of points, celebrating the collective efforts and achievements of all its members. Each half term, the house with the greatest number of weekly wins earns a special treat as a reward for their teamwork and commitment.

Our houses also play a key role in our annual Sports Day, where children come together to compete, encourage their teammates and demonstrate our values of courage, connection and curiosity through participation, resilience and good sportsmanship.

Being part of a house at Huby means being part of something bigger — a team where every child has the opportunity to contribute, achieve and shine together.
