PSHE
At Huby Church of England (VC) Primary School, PSHE helps children develop the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to flourish as confident, healthy, respectful and responsible individuals. We use the Kapow Primary PSHE scheme to provide a progressive curriculum which supports the statutory requirements for Relationships Education and Health Education, alongside the teaching and delivery of Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) in line with current statutory guidance.
PSHE provides opportunities for children to let their light shine by developing their understanding of themselves, their relationships with others and their responsibilities within their community and the wider world. Through their learning, children develop Courage to make positive choices and speak up when something is not right, Connection through building healthy and respectful relationships, and Curiosity by exploring themselves, others and the world around them.
Our PSHE curriculum supports children’s personal, social, emotional and spiritual development, helping them to understand themselves, value others and make informed and responsible choices. Our long-term plans and subject intent explain in more detail how PSHE, Relationships Education, Health Education and RSE are taught at Huby and how our curriculum reflects our vision, values and commitment to helping every child flourish.
