Geography

At Huby Church of England (VC) Primary School, Geography helps children develop a curiosity about the world and their place within it. We use the Kapow Primary Geography scheme to provide a broad and progressive curriculum, enabling children to develop their geographical knowledge, understanding and skills through the study of places, people, environments and the physical and human processes that shape our world.

Geography provides opportunities for children to let their light shine by asking questions, investigating the world around them and developing a deeper understanding of the diverse communities and environments they are part of. Through their learning, children develop Courage to explore unfamiliar places and ideas, Connection through understanding people, places and communities, and Curiosity about the world and how it is changing.

Our long-term plans and subject intent explain in more detail how Geography is taught at Huby and how our curriculum reflects our vision, values and commitment to helping every child flourish.
