Music

At Huby Church of England (VC) Primary School, Music gives children opportunities to listen, perform, compose and express themselves through a wide range of musical experiences. We use the Kapow Primary Music scheme to provide a broad and progressive curriculum, developing children’s musical knowledge, skills and confidence through singing, playing instruments, composing, improvising and listening to music from different cultures, traditions and periods.

Music provides opportunities for children to let their light shine by expressing themselves creatively, sharing their ideas and celebrating their achievements. Through their musical learning, children develop Courage to perform and try new things, Connection through making and experiencing music together, and Curiosity by exploring different sounds, styles, cultures and musical traditions.

Our long-term plans and subject intent explain in more detail how Music is taught at Huby and how our curriculum reflects our vision, values and commitment to helping every child flourish.
