Physical Education (PE)
At our school, we believe that Physical Education plays a vital role in promoting children’s physical health, mental wellbeing and overall development. Our aim is to provide a high-quality PE curriculum that inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities.

Through PE, we encourage...
Through PE, we encourage children to develop perseverance, courage and resilience. We want pupils to keep going when challenges arise, to try new activities with confidence, and to understand that improvement comes through effort and practice.
We also recognise the importance of supporting a healthy mind as well as a healthy body. Regular physical activity helps children to feel positive, manage emotions, build confidence and develop strong social skills through teamwork and cooperation.
We aim to:
We aim to:
-Develop children’s confidence, resilience and teamwork skills
-Promote an active and healthy lifestyle
-Ensure all children build fundamental movement skills
-Provide opportunities to compete and perform
-Foster a lifelong love of physical activity
Sports Premium Funding
Sports Premium is extra government funding given to primary schools to help improve PE, sport, and physical activity for all children.
The aim is simple: to help every child enjoy sport, stay active, and build healthy habits for life.
At Huby CE Primary School, we use this funding to make sure PE lessons are high quality and that pupils have more opportunities to take part in sport and physical activity across the school day.
We use it to help:
-Improve the quality of PE lessons across school
-Give children access to a wider range of sports, activities and competitions
-Upskill staff
-Run after-school clubs and sports opportunities
-Enter competitions and increase participation in School Games events
-Bring in specialist coaches to work alongside staff
-Provide extra opportunities for physical activity throughout the school day
